The company is committed to continually improving its EMS and its processes so that they are environmentally sound, prevent pollution, are acceptable to the community, are compliant with all relevant legal requirements and the requirements of the above Standard and the company.
The significant environmental aspects of the company’s activities have been identified as:
- Storage & Disposal of Waste
- Third Party (Indirect) Aspects
- The use of Chemicals
- Use of Resources
In order to reduce or eliminate the impact of the above significant aspects, the company has set overall environmental objectives as follows:
- To implement general waste reduction schemes through increased recycling and economical operating practices.
- To use approved suppliers/contractors who have an EMS or meet the company’s criteria.
- To ensure that all chemicals are stored and used in accordance with manufacturers Data Sheets and other recommended safe working practice and to ensure that all company staff receive COSHH training.
- To strive to make energy savings that can be achieved through lighting, heating efficiency measures, fuel economy, stock control and good housekeeping practices.
The content of this policy will be reviewed annually and, to ensure compliance, will be communicated to all employees, contractors and suppliers. It will be made available to customers and the general public on request.
The company is acutely aware of its environmental responsibilities and recognises that a healthy environment and the pursuit of business are inextricably linked, therefore, a prime responsibility of the company is to protect the environment as an integral part of good business practice, meeting the needs of the present without compromising those of the future.
